The Washington Wizards, the capitol
city's NBA basketball franchise, started their life long ago in 1961 as the
Chicago Packers. They later moved to Baltimore and became the Bullets, moving
again to Washington in 1974.
At the end of the 1996-1997
season, the basketball team took its current name.
The team is a huge hit with
locals and visitors often enjoy taking in a game or two at the beautiful MCI
Center.
The team usually plays about 40
home games so there are plenty of opportunities to view the team in action.
Some years, the Washington Wizards
made it to the conference semi-finals.
Visitors also enjoy the amazing moves of the Wizard Dancers, a terrific group of
young ladies ranging in age from 19-30
who are present at all the home
games to entertain the fans with their energetic choreography.
Kids also love G-Wiz, the team's
fuzzy mascot who makes the games extra fun.
Use Washington DC City kids and make
Washington DC City fun for the kids...and you!
