 Rainforest Cafe

Rainforest Cafe was clearly designed with children in mind. It bills itself as “a wild place to shop and eat.” And you’ll actually feel that you’re in the rainforest, as the restaurant is decked out with vines, trees, fish tanks and waterfalls. To add to the experience, there’s a “night sky” section, where diners are seated under a circular portion of sky beneath twinkling fiber-optic stars. A periodic “thunderstorm” is sure to get your attention!

The fare is simple and kid-friendly – seafood, beef, chicken, pasta and the all-time favorite, pizza. The Cyclone Crab Cake is served with lemon butter and “Spicy Safari” sauce, and the cheese sticks are fried to a golden brown. There’s also a special new menu for the littlest ones. The outrageous Volcano dessert is a trademark. The eatery’s Wild Bunch cast – Iggy, Rio, Bamba, Ozzie, Tuki, Maya, Nile and Cha! Cha! – can be seen cavorting around the restaurant. There’s a gift shop with rainforest-themed items. Parents should be aware that Rainforest is NOT known for being a quiet place to eat, but one where the kids are encouraged to cut loose.
