At Fort Hunt Park, the sites and sounds of picnickers camouflage the unusual history of this site.
Located along the Potomac River in Fairfax County, Virginia, this area is just eleven miles south of Washington, D. C. Its proximity to the Nationās capital dramatically effected the land use history. The park offers visitors a place to relax and enjoy nature in a very comfortable and fun way. The picnic area is a very popular spot with kids of all ages. But what this park is best known for are the sultry sounds of jazz, the rhythm of rock, and the fun of folk during the concerts. There is something for everyone at the Fort Hunt Concert Series this summer! The concerts, free and open to the public, are held on the Sundays from 7 - 8pm at Fort Hunt Park in Virginia mid-June to mid-August.
