Doll's House and Toy Museum Washington DC
Location: 5236 44th St., NW, Washington, DC
This museum is home to six rooms of antique dolls, doll
houses, toys, and games. Some of the "doll houses" on display are probably construction
models; others are documented Christmas gifts to little girls a century ago. Unfortunately,
visitors must suppress their inner child; the museum is strictly touch-me-not. There
are very small treasures to explore in this townhouse museum. Assembled by dollhouse
historian Flora Gill Jacobs in 1975, the collection offers numerous Victorian and
early 20th-century versions of the classic children's toy. This is a wonderful excursion
for any child or adult enamored with miniature collectibles.
