Washington DC Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens, located in the northeastern portion of Washington, DC near the Maryland border, was founded in the early 1900s by a Civil War veteran who had an affinity for aquatic plants. It became part of the National Park system in 1938 and has functioned as such since that time.

Open 7 days a week, the aquatic gardens is the only National Park Service site devoted to the propagation and display of aquatic plants. The area is quite picturesque and the perfect place for a leisurely stroll on a pleasant day. Rangers offer special programs designed fo...
