Washington DC's FBI Building is a fascinating stop for
visitors of all ages. Kids who are interested in law enforcement and the forensic
sciences will especially enjoy a tour of this building which, like most DC landmarks,
is free. Visitors will begin their tour by learning about the FBI's history.
You'll be enthralled by stories of the agency's work against
crime and terrorism and learn what the FBI's role is in fighting the terrorism of
today. Guests also have the opportunity to see forensic scientists at work in their
on-site labs and learn about some of the particulars of crime scene investigation.
You may even be treated to a firearms demonstration
presented by an FBI agent whose
specialty is weapons.
The FBI Building is located about 7 blocks from the White
House and close to other monuments and museums as well. Tours begin every 15 minutes
and are kid-friendly and easy to understand, especially for children of late elementary-school
age and older.
