Washington DC The nation’s oldest aquarium, the National
Aquarium is located just one block away from the Washington Monument and within
comfortable walking distance of the Smithsonian Museums.
An essential part of any trip to the nation’s capital,
the Aquarium features
more than 80 exhibits with over 200 species of salt and freshwater
marine life including endangered species. At its current location since 1931, the
Aquarium has introduced people to the wonders of the aquatic
world and encouraged
them to protect our planet's most essential resources.
On a daily basis, animal keeper talks and animal feedings
occur every day at 2 p.m. Sharks, piranhas and alligators can be seen on certain
