The Art in Hand program is based on an understanding of the social, emotional, cognitive, motor and sensory needs of young children, and the program is designed to support growth across these areas. Our goal is not so much to create great artists, but through providing great art experiences, to help little ones develop into great people who can think creatively and navigate confidently through many areas of their lives.
Each session incorporates an interactive story time intended to enhance your little one‘s early love of reading and emerging language skills, while inspiring young imaginations for the art-making that follows. Age-appropriate art materials and sensory experiences are introduced to stimulate your children‘s natural desire to create and express themselves. Budding artists have opportunities to experiment with a wide range of quality art media designed specifically for use by young children (non-toxic and washable). Classes engage children by reflecting concepts and themes they can relate to -- self-image, feelings, relationships and sharing, observations about nature and the world around them.
