Overview
Kennedy Center. The Kennedy Center celebrates the beginning of a great year with its annual Prelude Festival, a sneak-peek at the performing arts with offerings from dance to orchestra, from jazz to classics and from comedy to the dramatic.
|
|
This year’s Festival includes performances from the National Symphony Orchestra, the KC Jazz Club, the artistry of the Lily Cai Chinese Dance Company and the hilarious antics of visual comedian Peter Geist.
Prefer vocal music? Aficionados will swoon to the jazz vocal stylings of Roseanna Vitro, the U.S. Army Chorus and a choral concert led by three of the city’s leading conductors.
|
Also on the preview calendar are the mellow melodies of jazz bassist Jay Leonhart, the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Guitar Competition…and that’s only a small sample.
The Kennedy Center offers a limited number of specially-priced
tickets at 50 percent off full box office price, subject to
availability. Those eligible for SPTs are full-time students (grade
school through graduate school with ID), seniors over 65, enlisted
military personnel (grades E1-E4), persons with fixed low incomes
and those with permanent disabilities.
