Overview
The Hundred Dresses is a must-see performance. Set back in the Depression Era, The Hundred Dresses is a story about young kids in school who tease one girl named Wanda.
|
|
You will follow Maddie, Wanda’s schoolmate as she and others
tease Wanda about her clothes. You see Wanda, the only Polish student at school, wears only one dress although she claims to have 100.
It is only after Wanda and her family move away that the other school children discover she was telling the truth.
For Maddie, this is when she begins to realize how shameful her actions were and that she and Wanda could have been great friends. |
This performance, suitable for all children ages four and older, is perfect for teaching your children about friendship and the outcomes of teasing other schoolmates. Even though the story is based in times past, this is certainly a practice that continues today.
Bring your child and allow them to see first-hand what consequences can become of their actions. School-aged children will love this coming-of-age tale and are sure to remember what they have learned when making new friends.
Use WashingtonDCKids and make Washington, D.C. fun for the kids...and you!
